We believe that the guests served by the Table are members of our community whose well- being is a community concern The mission of The Table is to “provide a nutritious meal to anyone who is hungry, to offer a clean, safe place to dine, and to treat everyone with dignity and respect.” The Table is an almost all-volunteer, free meal program operated by more than two dozen local community groups. St. Apollinaris is one of 28 different church and community groups working together to provide a nutritious meal every Monday through Friday for all who are hungry in our local Napa Valley. Our diners include low-income workers, people in transition such as farm workers, elders on a fixed income, homeless, disabled and mentally ill, struggling families with children and Veterans.
St. Apollinaris serves on the second Thursday of each month. We prepare and serve our meals at the First Presbyterian Church of Napa at 1333 3rd street in downtown Napa. Our generous parishioners enable us to purchase the food and supplies we need. Each second Thursday, we serve 150-200 guests for less than $2.00 per meal. We provide a protein, vegetable, salad, fruit, dessert, milk and lemonade. Each month a team of 15 volunteers prepare, serve and clean up our meal. The preparation shift works from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The serving/cleaning shift works from 2:45 to 5:15.
Table co-coordinators are Pat Hildreth, Mayra McKinney and Linda Srebro. If you wish to donate to this important ministry, please make your checks payable to St Apollinaris “Table”. You may mail or drop them at the parish office or even drop them in the collection basket at Mass.
