Youth Ministry

MEET OUR NEW YOUTH DIRECTOR

Ashley.pngHello, my name is ashley Huss and I am excited to introduce myself as St. Apollinaris' Youth Director! I grew up in Napa was baptized at St. Apollinaris, and graduated from Kolbe Academy / Trinity Prep.

From an early age I felt the call to become a missionary so that I could serve and grow deeper in my relationship to Christ. In July of 2014 I became a missionary and was sent to Washington DC, where I served for two years teaching religious educaitons, leading girls clubs, youth groups, camps and retreats in many different diocese along the east coast. Since then, my heart has been set afire to serve in youth ministry. Since I moved back to California, I have led the local diocesan summer camp, mission trip, youth day, and worked as youth minister at St. Anthony of Padua parish in Novato.

Currently, I am studying to get a degree through Holy Apostles College. I feel very blessed to be given the opportunity to serve at my home parish in youth ministry.

My job will consist of leading the Confirmation program, youth group, and work with parish families to enhance our youth programs. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and sharing my passion for youth ministry.

At ROAR, kids discover that God is good even when life gets wild! Kids participate in memorable Bible learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, experience one-of-a-kind Wild Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God's love, and test our Sciency-Fun Gizmos they'll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called "God Sightings."

Each day concludes with a Safari Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they have learned.

ROAR is for kids entering T/K- 5th grade and will run from 9:00am-12:00pm each day. If you are entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, you can volunteer as an Assistant Crew Leader. If you are entering High School, you can volunteer as a Crew Leader.
