Communion Ministry to the Homebound

This group of volunteers are responsible for visiting the homebound and those in assisted living facilities to provide regular communion services and visitation. Call Sue Schetter at 707 257-3113 if you would like to help or if you have someone who is homebound and would like to receive Communion.

These volunteers do go to several of the local Assisted Living Facilities and Skilled Nursing Facilities, but also will go to a personal home if there is a need.

St. Vincent de Paul Mission Ministry

Provide food vouchers to low-income families at the rectory at St. Apollinaris on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays from 3:00 to 4:00 pm For information call Dan Ward at 255-0187 or email:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. The St. Vincent De Paul Board Members meet five evenings a year to review progress in the rectory. The funds to support the program come from the second collection taken up at St. Apollinaris on the 5th Sunday of the month (the 5th Sundays of the month throughout that year).

Hearts and Hands

Hearts and Hands is a subcommittee of the Women's Guild that assists families with funeral/memorial receptions. We take care of set up of the parish hall with tables, tablecloths (white, or you may rent your own) and chairs. Hearts and Hands volunteers coordinate serving with the caterer arranged by the family and take care of drinks, coffee, tea, lemonade, coffee, and clean-up of the hall.

This is coordinated through the rectory who refers the families to us and then we call them to understand their needs.

For this service we ask for a $75.00 donation to cover supplies.

Contact the Parish Office for more information at (707) 257-2555.

The Table

We believe that the guests served by the Table are members of our community whose well- being is a community concern The mission of The Table is to “provide a nutritious meal to anyone who is hungry, to offer a clean, safe place to dine, and to treat everyone with dignity and respect.” The Table is an almost all-volunteer, free meal program operated by more than two dozen local community groups. St. Apollinaris is one of 28 different church and community groups working together to provide a nutritious meal every Monday through Friday for all who are hungry in our local Napa Valley. Our diners include low-income workers, people in transition such as farm workers, elders on a fixed income, homeless, disabled and mentally ill, struggling families with children and Veterans.
