Taize Friday October 6th 7:00 pm at Carmelite House of Prayer

Hello to each of you.

Our Taize season is beginning this October, and in the website ( the operative word you’ll read is ‘chillin’’.  An odd word for inspiration for a season I wonder?

Yet, in this case, it's a perfect word for the beginning of a yearly season.  Just chillin'.  A word lobed from a surfer I encountered as I waited to catch the next wave on my board.  Hey, she said, we’re chillin’ here.

As we go about healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, teaching the lame to walk.  You know what I mean.  Navigating our lives.  Receptive to the adventures of the day, releasing the anxiety those adventures may bring.  Just chillin' as we touch those with whom we come in contact.

Taize offers us a time not unlike the water and waves in Maui.  Quiet, reflective, labyrinthine, all rescue us from our insistence to catch the next wave.  We're juuust chillin'.

Come, chill with us Oct. 6 at the Carmelite as we wait to ride the wave  of God’s loving rebalance.

In the words of Pope Francis, “even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor, are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in his own image, destined to live forever, and deserving of the utmost reverence and respect”.

Youth Ministry

"You are our hope, the young are our hope. Do not let that hope die! Stake you lives on it! We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures; we are the sum of the Father's love for us and our real capacity to become the image of his Son."

This is done by providing tools and information to help them live out God's Plan for the Sacrament of Marriage and to create a vibrant and positive community of married couples. Activities include speakers, dinners, movie nights, game nights, informative video presentations on Catholic teaching about living God's Plan for marriage, family nights, and couple time.
